Role overview:
We are supporting a government department with developing and implementing their AI Security policies and frameworks. This is a unique opportunity to lead the application of the Artificial Intelligence Assessment Framework (AIAF), and develop best practices for securing data across AI/ML development and testing.
You will have a deep understanding of AI governance, AI/ML security risks, and emerging tools in the cyber domain, with the ability to provide clear, actionable recommendations and collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
The role will be responsible for:
- Support the development and review of the department’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Security Policy.
- Implement the Artificial Intelligence Assessment Framework (AIAF) to ensure compliance with agency and national security standards.
- Develop and promote best practices for securing data used in the development, testing, and operation of AI/ML-based systems, in alignment with ACSC AI/ML Data Security guidance.
- Conduct security assessments of current AI systems, producing detailed reports and actionable recommendations.
- Research, identify, and recommend AI tools and technologies that can be leveraged to enhance Cyber Security functions within the department.
To be successful, you will have extensive experience in:
- Proven experience in AI/ML security, governance and assessment frameworks, and data protection, within government or enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of security best practices for AI/ML pipelines including data integrity, model training, and deployment security.
- Ability to perform technical assessments and clearly articulate findings in both written reports and verbal presentations.
- Familiarity with emerging AI tools, platforms, and their potential application in cyber defence.
