Test Manager – Embedded & Web Systems

Location: Brussels

Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote

Languages: Native French or Dutch + Professional English

Candidates must possess a valid work permit for Belgium

About the Role

As a Test Manager, your primary mission is to design, document, and lead the implementation of a High-Level Testing and Launch Strategy (HLTLS) that will serve as a reference across embedded and web teams.

✅ Tech Stack & Tools

• Mandatory: Azure DevOps (Expert), Git (Expert), Test Coordination
• Desirable: Gherkin, PHP, Artificial Intelligence (applied to testing), Test Automation

✅ Key Skills:

• Minimum 5 years in Test Management or QA Leadership, ideally in embedded and web system environments
• Strong command of testing methodologies (ISTQB is a plus)
• Familiar with C/C++ and PHP-based systems
• Solid experience with CI/CD tools: GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps
• Skilled in test management platforms (XRay, TestRail)
• Deep understanding of connectivity resilience, such as error recovery and validation in unstable networks
• Strong documentation, strategic thinking, and communication skills
• Languages: Native French or Dutch + Professional English
• Candidates must possess a valid work permit for Belgium

✅ Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Strategy & Governance

• Define and implement a department-wide testing strategy tailored to embedded and web environments
• Translate strategy into actionable practices: functional, integration, performance, robustness testing
• Align automated testing with CI/CD standards
• Define release launching strategy across interdependent systems

🔹 Automation & CI/CD

Design automated testing architecture for:

• Unit, integration, non-regression tests
• Infrastructure & network reliability tests (e.g., unstable connections, reconnections)
• Non-functional and performance tests
• Define CI/CD pipelines with quality checkpoints

🔹 Coordination & Leadership

• Monitor quality indicators and adjust strategies based on feedback
• Drive adoption of test governance practices across the department

🔹 Reporting & Documentation

• Provide structured reporting to program and project managers for integration into governance boards

🔹 Operational Contribution

• Support testing activities hands-on
• Review test plans, automated scripts, and defect reports
• Participate in Agile ceremonies: Sprint Planning, Review, Retrospective
