Machine Learning Engineer – AI Scale Up - High Comp + Equity

Atarus has partnered with a cutting-edge AI startup that's on the lookout for a Machine Learning Engineer to join their team.

🎯 The Role

You’ll join a small, elite team of engineers solving complex ML and systems problems with real-world impact. Your focus will be on taking open-source ML models (primarily in PyTorch), fine-tuning them on our in-house data, and deploying them efficiently in real-time C++ runtimes for production use.

You will:

• Fine-tune and adapt open-source vision models on proprietary datasets
• Productionize and optimize models in C++ for low-latency, high-throughput environments
• Design experiments to assess model trade-offs in accuracy vs latency
• Integrate models into real-world use cases and own the success metrics
• Maintain and enhance ML applications across the product
• Explore the latest ML research and translate ideas into deployed solutions

🧠 What You Bring

• Strong ML fundamentals (linear algebra, statistics, supervised/self-supervised learning)
• Experience writing production-grade software
• A passion for keeping up with the latest deep learning research (especially in vision, LLMs, and foundation models)
• Understanding of Docker and containerization

Nice to have:

• PyTorch experience (training, tuning, exporting)
• C++ experience, especially in production ML deployment
• Familiarity with TorchScript, ONNX Runtime, TensorRT
• Experience optimizing for inference: quantization, half-precision (FP16), INT8
