About the Role

We are seeking an Agile Coach - Expert (Freelance) for a 12-month engagement in Brussels with our client. This is a high-impact opportunity to drive true agile transformation at scale. You’ll empower teams and individuals to embed agile ways of working, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure that agile practices are not just adopted, but owned. Your mission: enable teams to become self-sustaining, high-performing, and ready to thrive long after your engagement ends.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide teams and individuals in implementing agile operating models, tailoring techniques to their maturity and context.
• Motivate and inspire employees to embrace agile values, principles, and behaviors.
• Actively participate in operational meetings, monitor methodology quality, and recommend process improvements aligned with agile best practices.
• Lead change management initiatives: organize and deliver training, mentoring, and individual coaching as needed.
• Customize training materials, documentation, and working documents to simplify agile adoption in daily operations.
• Continuously update and optimize your own knowledge of agile methodologies relevant to the teams and entities you support.
• Collaborate with fellow agile coaches to propose, evaluate, and implement continuous improvements.
• Facilitate and coordinate agile ceremonies (squad, tribe, guild, and thematic ceremonies) to drive engagement and alignment.

Technical Skills & Experience

• Minimum 10 years of proven experience in complex organizational environments.
• Deep expertise in facilitating group learning, leveraging team dynamics, and driving collective growth.
• Extensive experience in coaching, with a track record of enabling teams to become self-sufficient.
• Certification in one or more agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, XP, Lean, SAFe, LeSS, Disciplined Agile, DevOps, etc.).
• Experience as a trainer is highly valued.
• Hands-on knowledge of squad dynamics, agile ceremonies, backlog management (including tools like Rally), and requirement definition.
• Expertise in E2E management (work slicing, product and delivery ownership at all levels).
• Familiarity with agile governance structures (Product Board, Refinement & Delivery Board, Tribe Improvement governance, etc.).

Language Proficiency

• Fluency in Dutch or French (mother tongue or strong working knowledge).
• Sound knowledge of English.
• Ability to operate effectively in a multilingual environment is essential.
