Network Engineer

Our Dublin based client are looking for a Network Engineer to join their team

This is a permanent position with a market leading organization who have an excellent reputation and strong Technology team in Dublin

Position will report into the IT Infrastructure Manager and offer a great career opportunity and chance for progression and development

Responsibilities

• Support the maintenance and monitoring of the organization’s network infrastructure.
• Assist senior team members in ensuring network reliability, security, and performance.
• Monitor and resolve user reported network infrastructure
• Resolve issues that are assigned via the IT Service Desk ticketing system.
• Analyse network problems, perform root cause analysis, and ensure preventative measures are put in place.
• Assist in the configuration and maintenance of networking hardware and software
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and escalate as needed.
• Provide first-line support for network-related incidents and service requests.
• Assist with the deployment and documentation of new network infrastructure projects.
• Liaise with external vendors and service providers as required.
• Stay current with networking trends and technologies to support ongoing development.
• Undergoing training and development as and when required as part of the role
• Performing other duties that may be required from time to time.

Qualifications

• Qualifications or experience in relevant Azure/Windows technologies.
• Qualifications or experience in networking technologies, including virtual networks.

Experience required

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 2/3+ years' experience in a similar role
• Understanding of core networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
• Be familiar with network hardware such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Have an understanding of OSI model.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
