Network Engineer

Informatech is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our Technical Services team, supporting one of our key Defence customers. This permanent position will see you embedded in a high-performing team contributing to the success of major Defence ICT initiatives. Australian Citizenship and an NV2 clearance are required to be considered for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the design, build and deployment of complex, secure network solutions.
• Develop, maintain and review detailed network documentation.
• Provide subject matter expertise to customers and stakeholders across Defence and industry partners.
• Create and maintain knowledge articles for use across the service desk and IT support functions.
• Contribute to solution architecture, process improvement and project scoping activities.
• Identify and recommend innovative service improvements.
• Collaborate closely with technical peers in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Proven experience as a Network or Gateway Engineer, ideally within Defence programs.
• Strong hands-on experience across a range of network technologies, including:
• Routing and switching
• IPSec, VPN, VXLAN, OSPF, BGP, MPLS TE
• Next-generation firewalls
• VOIP and enterprise wireless LAN infrastructure
• Network segmentation and access control
• Telemetry protocols such as NetFlow and SNMP
• Experience in automation and scripting using NSO and Ansible.
• Proficiency with Linux operating systems, shell scripting and Python.
• Familiarity with architectural frameworks (e.g. TOGAF) and applying them to solution design.
• Australian Citizenship and an NV2 clearance are required to be considered for this role.
