The Role:
Parico is seeking a talented Network Engineer who is smart, curious and prospers against the challenge of working closely with a small business to solve complex and challenging problems across the Public Sector landscape. You’ll have the freedoms to be truly innovative, to roll up your sleeves, get stuck into the detail of systems, and generally do what it takes to achieve incredible technical solutions to our customer’s complex problems.
Although there is scope for future hybrid working once you have experience of the system, this role requires candidates who can be on-site and live within a commutable distance to the Bristol area.
You will be part of a team developing and supporting systems and services for our clients, using cloud services and on-premises infrastructure components. You’ll have the opportunity to shape operational platforms and services within a close-knit technical team. You’ll have the freedom to apply your knowledge and experience whilst also recommending further technical ‘good practice’ and improvements to enhance all infrastructure capabilities.
Responsibilities include:
To join a team responsible for the design, deployment, maintenance, and support of client network installations. Technologies and components across our clients include;
- Physical structured cabling
- IP Address Management (IPAM)
- Network Time Protocol (NTP)
- Wide Area Network (WAN)
- Local Area Network (LAN)
- Authentication, Authorisation, and Accounting (AAA)
- Installation and Management of Juniper and Cisco Switches
- Installation and Management of Juniper, FortiGate, and Cisco Firewalls
- Integration into Cloud via AWS Direct Connect
- Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE)
- Virtual Private Network (VPN)
- IPSec
- Syslog and Simple Network Monitoring Protocol (SNMP)
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Experience of providing support within an Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) methodology
- Exceptional troubleshooting skills and a proven track record of resolving incidents within Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Demonstrable experience of maintaining Enterprise level networks within a datacentre environment
- Previous experience working with Juniper and FortiGate products
- Knowledge of the MOD’s Secure By Design approach and NCSC Security Principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Have demonstrable sector knowledge or experience within UK Public Sector UK.
- Must either hold UK security clearance or be eligible to obtain clearance.
- Hold a UK Driving Licence and have a willingness to travel to client sites.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Certification and/or experience demonstrating knowledge of networking fundamentals.
Essential Criteria:
- We are only able to progress with sole UK British nationals for this role.
- Candidates must either have or be eligible to obtain UK SC security clearance.
