About the Role

We're seeking an experienced and motivated Mobile (Android) Developer to take ownership of our Android application used daily by professional drivers across Australia. You’ll work within a cross-functional team to develop scalable, high-performance apps, with opportunities to take on architectural and leadership responsibilities as you grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Android app features using Kotlin
• Integrate RESTful APIs, WebSockets, geolocation, push notifications, and support offline-first capabilities
• Apply SOLID principles and best practices in Android development
• Implement and manage GraphQL integrations
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers and backend developers
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code; perform code reviews
• Identify and fix bugs; continuously optimize app performance
• Work within an Agile development environment using tools like Trello and Git

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional Android development experience
• Strong expertise in Kotlin and Android SDK
• Hands-on experience with Jetpack libraries, Room, and MVVM architecture
• Deep understanding of Android navigation architecture, UI transitions, and animations
• Solid knowledge of coroutines, multi-threading, and asynchronous programming
• Experience with Ktor, Jetpack DataStore, and Koin
• Proficient in managing release builds, signing, and crash reporting
• Familiarity with testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito
• Strong understanding of Android UI/UX guidelines
• Experience using Git and version control workflows
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with real-time data and/or location-based services
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with analytics platforms like Firebase, Mixpanel, etc.
• Previous experience in Kotlin developement
• Experience mentoring junior team members
