1. Role Objective
JOB CONTENT
To manage, coordinate and execute the tasks/activities under Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) Department of PODC; provide and maintain safe and secure working environment in the site and ensure compliance with national and international standards at all times; continuously monitor HSS procedures followed by employees, visitors and customers and take necessary actions to ensure that the safety procedures are practiced throughout project sites.
2. Duties and Responsibilities
Operational:
- Assist in planning HSSE tasks, activities and targets with HSSE Asst. Manager and other team members and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of procedures to ensure that contractors, suppliers and consultants directly/indirectly working with PODC comply with relevant HSSE standards.
- Assist with checking and reviewing of contractor's submitted documents for HSS compliance.
- Conducts scheduled and unscheduled safety and security inspections of the work site facilities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines.
- Observes work in progress, ensures maintaining secure working environment, that proper safety equipment is worn and safety & security procedures are followed.
- Notifies and report to management regarding violations of safety and security regulations.
- Makes recommendations for corrections and follows-up to ensure that violations have been corrected.
- Develop risk assessments and analyse hazards to minimize risk to the employees, visitors or contractors.
- Investigate safety and health complaints submitted by management, employees, visitors, contractors, government authorities…etc.
- Ensure that all incidents are investigated, root cause is analyzed and necessary steps are taken to prevent a similar recurrence in future.
- Evaluates concerns and alternatives, resolve complaints and makes recommendations to management for corrective action, as required.

- Conduct safety meetings to discuss/consult senior managers about health, safety & security related issues and communicate, update, inform employees of changes related to health, safety & security.
- Complete all other related tasks as assigned from time to time by the reporting manager or management.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, Safety and environmental management or equivalent or as per the Minimum Qualifications and Experiences matrix in PODC.
The ministry of labour Requirements to apply for the Program:
- The applicant must be register as a job seeker, or at least three months must have passed since their resignation if they were previously employed.
- The candidate must not have previously benefited from any government or privet initiative.
- Their work experience must not exceed three years.
- The applicant must not be older than 35 years old.
Experience:
- 0-2 years of similar experience in HSE or relevant fields or as per the Minimum Qualifications and Experiences matrix in PODC.
