Stena Line will be commencing Engine Cadetship programmes in September 2026.

What does a cadetship include and why choose Stena Line?

Engineering Cadetship

We offer a number of Engine cadetships. As a marine engineering cadet, you will learn about the maintenance of the vessel’s engine room and mechanical machinery. Subjects on this course include marine legislation, marine propulsion, thermodynamics, and workshop skills.

The Must-haves

A minimum of four National 5’s/GSCE at grade C or above which must include Maths, English and a Science based subject

Hold a valid UK/EEA Passport

Have been a resident of the UK for the last 36 months

Successful candidates must be able to obtain an unrestricted ENG1 certificate before commencing the program

Our vessels depart from Belfast, Cairnryan, Holyhead, Dublin, Liverpool, Fishguard and Rosslare.
