Expert Technical Mentor - Java & Testing

Location: Brussels, Belgium

Hybrid: 2 - 3 times a week on the client’s office

On-Call Duty: Availability for 24/7 on-call service

Languages: French (C1) + Dutch (C1)

Candidates must possess a valid work permit for Belgium

Role Overview

You will improve developer experience and technical excellence across multiple teams, focusing on automated testing, clean code practices, and fast feedback cycles. You will coach teams in adopting test-first approaches (TDD/ATDD) and collaborative development practices.

Required Skills and Experience:

✅15 years of experience in:

• Software Design & Delivery: Domain Driven Design, TDD, Trunk-Based Development
• Testing: Contract, Integration & Unit Testing
• Source Control: Gitlab
• Concurrent Product Development: Analysis, coding, and testing performed synchronously

✅10 years of experience in Java development (Java 21 experience is mandatory)

✅Practical experience with Clean Architecture, LeSS environment, and test suites as executable documentation

✅Languages: French (C1) + Dutch (C1)

✅Candidates must possess a valid work permit for Belgium

What You’ll Be Doing

• Mentor teams on software design, coding, and testing best practices
• Improve automated testing (End-to-End, Contract, Component, Integration, Unit)
• Drive adoption of Clean Architecture, Clean Code, and Trunk-Based Development
• Support cross-team collaboration using Mob/Ensemble/Software Teaming approaches
• Actively participate in coding, testing, and design activities
