Job Title: Senior Information Security Officer

Location: Leuven, Belgium (Hybrid – 2/3 Days On-Site)

Contract Duration: Until December 2026 (Extendable)

I’m currently partnering with a leading financial services provider in Belgium to recruit a Senior Information Security Officer to join their growing security team.

In this high-impact role, you’ll be part of a group of 30 Information Security Officers, each supporting a dedicated area of the organization. For this position, you’ll lead information security efforts for one of their key business units ensuring best practices, managing risks, and guiding senior stakeholders on security strategy and compliance.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide expert advisory support on information security for projects, initiatives, and risk management.
• Conduct risk assessments and define effective mitigation strategies.
• Oversee security controls, policies, and incident response processes.
• Collaborate closely with IT teams, suppliers, and senior management to strengthen security posture.
• Report directly to senior leadership on risks, incidents, and security KPIs.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity or information security advisory roles.
• Strong technical IT background to assess risks and provide actionable recommendations.
• Fluency in Dutch and English (both written and spoken) is required.
• CISSP, CISM, or equivalent certifications are a strong plus but not mandatory.
