Director of Data and AI Architecture

This sector has seen significant growth, especially as consumer behaviors have changed following the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023, we took a major step by acquiring the mobile teams of Lookout Life, a US-based cybersecurity company. This acquisition not only bolstered our presence in the US but also opened up new revenue streams and expanded our customer base, underscoring our commitment to innovation and growth.

We are a global team of around 500 dedicated professionals at F-Secure, specializing in consumer cybersecurity and expanding our focus on scam protection. As the industry moves from tech-centric solutions to more human-focused strategies, we're at the forefront, creating innovative products that shield users from evolving digital threats and social engineering tactics. Our strength lies in the data we collect on scams and cyber threats from our research and global customer base. As we shift towards a human-centric approach, understanding consumer behavior is key to ensuring our products meet user expectations and provide the best protection. AI plays a crucial role in extracting insights from this data.

Our Architecture team, part of our 350-person Technology organization, is essential in shaping and executing our architectural strategy. With a renewed focus on Data and AI, the Director role will be vital in leveraging data across both our Technology and Product teams. Key Responsibilities

As the Director of Data and AI Architecture at F-Secure, you’ll play a key role in driving our data-centric culture, reporting directly to the Chief Architect. You'll be instrumental in shaping our strategy and leading the implementation of cutting-edge solutions across our Product and Technology organizations. The role responsibilities consists of three pillars: Culture, Strategy and Execution.

Culture Transformation

• Champion data strategy: Lead cross-organizational discussions to create a unified vision for our data strategy.
• Foster proactivity: Encourage a proactive approach to data governance and visibility within our Technology organization.
• Promote data as a strategic asset: Highlight the importance of data in driving our product and technology initiatives.
• Integrate data initiatives: Weave data-culture projects into our ongoing company culture renewal efforts.
  
  

Strategic Development

• Craft a comprehensive strategy: Develop a data and AI strategy that aligns with both product needs and technology capabilities.
• Architectural evolution: Identify and plan for long-term architectural shifts required by our data and AI strategy.
• Innovate: Contribute to new product feature ideas and data/AI-related innovation.
  
  

Execution Leadership

• Drive implementation: Lead the rollout of the data/AI strategy across various teams and stakeholders, enhancing existing programs.
• Collaborate with product teams: Ensure our data strategy meets product demands and supports their success.
• Manage execution vehicles: Establish processes for achieving both short-term successes and long-term strategic goals.
• Share and communicate immediate results: Demonstrate quick wins to build confidence and momentum within the organization.
  
  

As the Director of Data and AI Architecture, you'll have the opportunity to shape and elevate our approach to data within the organization. A key focus will be fostering a data-centric culture and encouraging proactive engagement within our Technology team. You'll work on balancing the priorities of our Product teams with the technological requirements of our data strategy. Additionally, you'll play a crucial role in leading cross-team initiatives, even in an environment where direct control over resources is limited. Your efforts will help build a shared understanding and common language around data topics across the organization, facilitating better collaboration and innovation.

What are we looking for?

• Proven experience in data strategy: Demonstrated success in crafting and executing data strategies within complex environments involving multiple stakeholders.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management: Excellent ability to engage, influence, and manage diverse stakeholders, with a background in driving cultural change.
• Insight into data and AI: Deep understanding of leveraging data as a strategic asset and foundational knowledge of AI/ML concepts relevant to data strategy.
• Technical expertise: Solid understanding of data architecture principles, with a preference for experience with the AWS stack.
