We’re looking for a Cloud Developer to join our Protection Data Science and LabTech team in Helsinki. The team builds and runs a large-scale cloud ecosystem that identifies malicious URLs and protects our customers from scams and other online threats.

This role is for someone who’s genuinely interested in cloud development and wants to work close to production. You’ll help build and run systems at serious scale — handling billions of requests per day — while learning how to balance cost, performance, reliability, and simplicity in real-world environments.

You’ll work mainly with Python in an AWS-based, serverless setup, combining application development with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and production operations. We value curiosity, steady improvement, and a willingness to try things, learn, and adjust as we go.

We work in an agile way and collaborate closely with researchers and engineers across domains. We offer flexible remote work, but the team meets at the office about once a week for co-working and team time — because some conversations are just easier face to face.

Key Responsibilities In This Role

• Design, develop, and test features and functionalities for cloud services
• Participate in building and running serverless microservices on AWS
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines for safe and frequent deployments
• Automate and optimize production monitoring and alerting
• Contribute to improving system reliability, availability, and fault tolerance
• Handle support requests from other teams and help keep production running smoothly
  
  

What are we looking for?

• Professional experience developing backend systems with Python
• Golang experience is a plus
• Experience or strong interest in running serverless production systems
• Experience or strong interest in CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• Experience with AWS managed and serverless services
• Infrastructure-as-Code experience (e.g. CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, ECS/EKS)
• Experience working with both SQL and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with microservices architectures
• A team-oriented mindset: you communicate clearly, support others, and stay curious
• Full professional proficiency in English (our working language)

• MLOps experience: model deployment, versioning, experiment tracking, feature stores, data pipelines, or model monitoring
• Understanding of cloud networking and security fundamentals
• Experience with multi-region, active-active backend systems
