Join the Fleet Information Environment (FIE) Modernisation Project, delivering cutting-edge, cyber-hardened ICT systems (Minerva) to support the Royal Australian Navy’s mission-critical operations.

We’re seeking a Network Specialist with Defence experience to support the design, build, and maintenance of secure network infrastructure in deployed and operational environments.

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert support across routing, switching, VPNs, firewalls, VoIP, NAC, and wireless LAN
• Maintain and patch secure systems in line with Defence ICT protocols
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents in constrained or degraded conditions (DDIL)
• Create SOPs and technical documentation; support training and mentoring
• Assist with deployment, hardware builds, and vendor engagement
• Participate in an on-call rotation for high-priority incidents

✅ Skills & Experience:

• Experience as a Network/Gateway engineer
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge in Defence Deployed systems
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge in networking technologies including:
• o Routing.
• o Switching.
• o IPSec, VPN, VLAN, OSPF, BGP, MPLS TE.
• o Next Gen firewalls
• o Voice Over IP
• o Enterprise wireless LAN infrastructure
• o Network segmentation
• o Network Access Control
• o Network telemetry protocols such as NetFlow, SNMP, etc.
• Experienced with:
• o Microsoft Exchange Administration Processes
• o Microsoft Active Directory Administration
• o Microsoft Skype Administration
• o Citrix Virtual Desktop Administration
• o Hypervisor Maintenance and Administration
• o VoIP
• Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills

Desirable: Experience with Minerva systems, shipboard ICT, and SEA2273 environments

📌 Requirements:

• NV2 Security Clearance (or ability to obtain)
• Must comply with ITAR regulations
• On-call & DSN access required – no WFH available
