AI Engineer

Clarvo is recruiting an AI Engineer on behalf of a client. The client is a Helsinki-based technology firm that specializes in providing advanced AI-driven solutions for industrial automation and predictive maintenance. Their mission is to help manufacturing clients optimize operations, reduce downtime, and improve safety by leveraging machine learning and data analytics.

Role Description

We are seeking a talented Mid-Level AI Engineer to join the client's growing team. This is a full-time, permanent position offered on a hybrid basis, requiring some presence at the Helsinki office. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of machine learning solutions. Your core duties will involve designing, building, and deploying sophisticated machine learning models to solve complex industrial problems. You will work extensively with large datasets, develop robust data pipelines, and ensure the scalability and reliability of AI systems in production environments. This role requires close collaboration with data scientists, software engineers, and domain experts to translate business requirements into functional AI applications.

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both software engineering and machine learning principles.

• A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in an AI or Machine Learning Engineer role.
• A deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, including deep learning, reinforcement learning, and classical ML models.
• Demonstrable experience in taking machine learning models from prototype to a production environment.
• A solid foundation in software development best practices.

Technical and Soft Skills

Candidates must possess a specific set of technical skills and be able to communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Professional proficiency in either English or Finnish is mandatory.

• Expert-level proficiency in Python and its data science ecosystem (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn).
• Hands-on experience with at least one major deep learning framework, such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Experience with MLOps tools and platforms (e.g., Kubeflow, MLflow, Seldon Core) for model deployment and monitoring.
• Proficiency with cloud services, particularly AWS or Azure, for building and scaling AI solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• The capacity to work collaboratively and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
