Job Title: Senior Network Engineer

Location: Brussels (5 days onsite)

Contract Type: Freelance, Long-term project

Daily Rate: 450 euros

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer (LAN) to join our client that is in the public sector in Brussels. This role offers the chance to work on large-scale, secure, and complex network infrastructures while leading projects that ensure robust connectivity and security across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage TCP/IP networks (CWDM, QOS, Ethernet switching) supporting 1000+ nodes.
• Administer CISCO & Nexus switches and oversee network infrastructures.
• Manage network security: Fortinet & CISCO firewalls, SSL offloading devices, encryption, and proxy servers.
• Ensure high availability and security across VoIP, H.232, and other telecommunication systems.
• Monitor performance with advanced network tools, including F5 ADC load balancing.
• Administer DHCP/DNS Infoblox, Trinzic 825, and Grid systems.
• Lead disaster recovery and ensure resilience of multi-site environments.

Requirements

• Valid Security Clearance (mandatory – without this, applications cannot be considered).
• CCNA Routing & Switching (minimum); CCNP or higher preferred.
• Experience in TCP/IP networking, cabling (UTP & fiber), Ethernet switching/routing, monitoring tools, performance management.
• Experience with CISCO & Nexus switches.
• Experience in network security, ITIL environments, firewalls (Fortinet & CISCO), F5 load balancing, SSL offloading, Infoblox, VoIP.
