WHAT WE DO
We are set up to provide our customers with end-to-end support in the process of developing software solutions:
- Business need analysis, design of functional and non-functional requirements, system analysis, support for business transformation and IT/business consultancy;
- User interface and experience design and development for mobile and desktop applications;
- Front and back-end development in a wide range of technologies: Java, .NET, Ruby, GoLang, Oracle, Python.
- Complete Data Warehouse solutions from architecture, design and implementation using mainly Vertica, Oracle and Microsoft platforms.
- Avalanche has been the central counterparty for multiple major banking projects in the Scandinavia and Baltics, in areas such as lending automation, regulatory reporting and calculations, integrations, governance, risk and compliance, Basel II/III, Stress Testing, AML/KYC.

We are searching for an experienced and motivated Intermediate / Senior Data Engineer to join our consulting team and work with one of our key international enterprise banking clients.
This is not just another role - it's a chance to make a lasting impact on large-scale data platform modernization, regulatory compliance, and advanced analytics initiatives at the heart of the financial sector. You will be part of the Engineering Core Platform Department - Core Banking Unit within our client's organization. This unit plays a critical role in shaping and optimizing the next generation of banking data platforms.
DO YOU HAVE...
π SQL (5+ years) - deep hands-on experience with complex queries, optimization, and database design.
π Python (3-5 years) - strong development background for data engineering tasks (Java is a plus).
π Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP - 3+ years) - proven hands-on experience deploying and managing data solutions in the cloud.
π Containerization (Kubernetes, Docker - 2+ years) - practical experience orchestrating workloads.
π Streaming data pipelines (Kafka, Spark, Flink - 2-3 years) - strong understanding and real project experience.
π Data pipeline orchestration (Airflow or dbt - 2+ years).
π Modern data warehousing (Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift - 2+ years).
π Enterprise data platforms (Oracle DB, SAP IQ, SAP Data Services, SAP Business Objects - 3+ years).
π Reporting & visualization tools (Power BI - 2+ years).
π System integrations - proven knowledge of real-time, event-driven, and message-based integrations bridging legacy systems with modern platforms.
π Databases - experience with both SQL and NoSQL technologies.
π DevOps & automation mindset - exposure to Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, monitoring, alerting, and security best practices.
π Fluent English - excellent spoken and written communication to operate in an international, Pan-Baltic environment.
