Job Title: Network Security Engineer

Role Overview
Our client is seeking a skilled Network Security Engineer for a 6-month contracting role to support their IT Operations team. You will play a key role in ensuring secure, efficient, and high-performing network infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. Reporting to the Head of IT Operations, this position provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, fast-paced organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and manage network architectures, including routing, switching, and subnetting.
- Collaborate with third-party MSPs to support a distributed multi-site WAN.
- Implement and maintain secure and high-availability VPN solutions.
- Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
- Support Azure environments, including VNets and basic security configurations.
- Manage Barracuda Firewalls and Web Application Firewalls (WAF) for application security.
- Monitor and enhance network security, addressing vulnerabilities and safeguarding systems.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and industry standards.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and resolving network-related issues.
Qualifications, Experience, & Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in networking, including Cisco environments.
- Solid understanding of networking principles (e.g., routing, switching, subnetting).
- Proficiency with Cisco network equipment (routers, switches, and firewalls).
- Familiarity with Azure environments, including virtual networks and basic configurations.
- Hands-on experience with Barracuda Firewalls and WAF solutions.
- Strong grasp of network security principles and best practices.
