About The Role

We are seeking a skilled .NET Developer to join our team supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) Child and Youth Programs (CYP). This critical initiative aims to provide military and DoD-affiliated families with access to high-quality, affordable childcare, directly contributing to force readiness, morale, and retention. In this role, you will be instrumental in modernizing legacy systems by designing, developing, and maintaining modular web applications and RESTful APIs using the latest .NET technologies. You will work closely with government stakeholders, contractors, and cross-functional teams in an agile environment to deliver secure, high-performance solutions that support the mission-critical needs of military families.

This position offers the flexibility of supporting 100% remote work within the United States, with the requirement to support Eastern Time Zone hours. You will have the opportunity to apply cutting-edge development practices while contributing to impactful outcomes that enhance the lives of military families across the nation.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience with .NET (preferably .NET 6/7/8) and C# development
  • 2+ years of experience developing and maintaining REST APIs
  • 2+ years of experience with SQL Server, including stored procedures and query optimization
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Entity Framework Core and LINQ
  • 2+ years of experience writing and maintaining automated tests with xUnit or similar frameworks
  • 2+ years of experience using GitHub or similar tools for version control and collaboration
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance
  • Must reside in the United States and perform work within the U.S.
  • U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder)

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using .NET 8 and C# to support various application functionalities
  • Implement clean, maintainable, and scalable code following Clean Code Architecture and SOLID principles
  • Create and maintain data access layers utilizing Entity Framework and LINQ for efficient data retrieval and manipulation
  • Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure application quality and reliability using xUnit
  • Develop and optimize SQL Server queries, stored procedures, and database schemas to enhance performance
  • Support dynamic document generation and reporting features to facilitate data presentation and analysis
  • Utilize GitHub for version control, branching, and pull requests to manage codebase effectively
  • Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and Product teams during sprint planning, backlog grooming, and code reviews
  • Participate in root-cause analysis, bug fixing, and performance tuning activities to improve application stability
  • Follow Agile development methodologies, contributing to sprint deliverables and team goals
