For our new Digital Sovereign Private Cloud services, we are looking for experienced Senior Back-end Engineer. You will participate in building a fully on-premises platform (no Public Cloud environment like Azure, AWS, or GCP - however, such experience can be valuable as part of your background).

As a Senior Back-end Engineer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team developing software and platform components for a new, greenfield Digital Sovereign platform. You will work on modern, scalable back-end services and actively contribute to the design, implementation, and operational assurance of high-quality technical solutions.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Developing back-end services and platform functionality for an on-premises cloud environment
• Designing and building microservices architecture
• Creating operable services, including observability (e.g., OpenTelemetry)
• Automating deployments using GitOps principles
• Setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitHub Actions)
• Applying testing strategies such as TDD and BDD
• Collaborating within agile teams on a greenfield software platform
• Actively contributing to the technical vision, architecture, and quality assurance

Required Experience & Skills

• Relevant back-end experience
• Programming experience in Golang

Experience with:

• Microservices architecture
• Automated testing and TDD/BDD
• GitOps deployment
• CI/CD, preferably GitHub Actions
• Kubernetes (preferably also OpenShift
• Experience with platform orchestration/automation is a strong plus
• Knowledge of on-prem virtualized networking is a strong plus
• Experience with modern software engineering practices and agile working
• Self-starting, proactive, and team-oriented
• Fluent written and spoken Dutch is required
