Principal Full Stack Engineer (AI Platforms)

Hawksman Technology is working with a fast-growing health technology company on a mission to transform how individuals and healthcare providers understand and act on health data.

Role: Principal Full Stack and AI Engineer

We’re seeking a Principal Full Stack and AI Engineer to lead the design and development of an intelligent, data-driven health platform. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of scalable software systems and applied AI. You’ll drive architecture decisions, build and deploy AI-powered features, and help shape the company’s long-term technical direction as part of a high-impact early team.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement end-to-end features across frontend, backend, and AI integrations
• Architect and deploy LLM inference systems optimized for performance and cost
• Build secure and compliant data pipelines for sensitive and unstructured health data
• Lead MVP rollouts and iterate rapidly toward product-market fit
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and data science teams to deliver AI-driven user experiences
• Establish engineering best practices around scalability, observability, and security
• Manage cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP environments

Requirements:

• Self-starter and hands-on “builder” mentality — this is a doer role, not a managerial one
• Strong backend engineering background with hands-on full stack capability
• Proficiency in Python and React Native, with experience in containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform
• Proven experience deploying and optimizing AI workloads in AWS (GCP experience a plus, especially for data science workloads)
• Exposure to AI-powered QA tools, data engineering tools (e.g., Airflow, Spark, Kafka), and model serving frameworks
• Experience scaling AI platforms and deploying AI pipelines in production environments
• Strong understanding of data architecture, security, and unstructured data handling
• Practical experience with LLM inference optimization, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and vector databases
• Comfortable working independently across time zones and collaborating with distributed teams
