Senior QA Automation Engineer (SQL & Data-Focused)

Our client, a leading FinTech firm, is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer with strong SQL skills, proven experience working with large datasets, and a background in Investments or Financial Services. This is a high-impact role where you will shape the QA strategy, build advanced test automation frameworks, and ensure data accuracy across complex systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for data-centric applications.
• Ensure data quality and accuracy when working with large and complex datasets.
• Lead the development and evolution of QA Automation strategy and tooling across the tech stack.
• Collaborate with engineers, data specialists, and business analysts to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to improve release efficiency.
• Implement end-to-end, regression, and performance testing practices to ensure system reliability.
• Continuously evaluate new tools and frameworks to enhance QA capabilities.
• Senior stakeholder communication

Required Experience

• 7+ years’ experience in QA Automation, ideally in data-rich environments.
• Strong SQL and data querying skills.
• Proven experience working with large datasets and ensuring data integrity / accuracy.
• Experience with Pytest or similar test frameworks (Cucumber, Karate, etc.).
• Skilled in scripting languages (e.g. Python, Java, or similar).
• Strong exposure to Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and version control tools.

Desirable Skills

• Background in Investments or Financial Services.
• Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms or big data ecosystems.
• Familiarity with BDD (Behaviour Driven Development) practices.
• Experience with performance and load testing tools.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline.
