RELYzIT Talent is seeking a Junior Scrum Master (Freelance) to join our client’s high-impact digital transformation program in Brussels. This is a unique opportunity to empower Agile teams at the heart of public sector innovation, driving the digitisation of justice and road safety processes. As a Junior Scrum Master, you will be instrumental in accelerating the execution of financial penalties, reducing administrative workload, and improving service delivery to citizens. You’ll help teams deliver on critical projects that automate and streamline the management of road-traffic fines, enhance European cooperation, and ensure justice is accessible and effective. Your leadership will foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and Agile excellence — with real-world impact at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies: sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
• Support the creation and maintenance of sprint backlogs and monitor sprint goals
• Promote transparency, collaboration, and a culture of open communication within the team
• Identify and remove impediments to team progress, escalating structural issues as needed
• Coach team members in pragmatic problem-solving and Agile best practices
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and high-performing team environment
• Encourage continuous improvement and active engagement in Agile communities of practice
• Assist the Product Owner in backlog refinement, value delivery, and stakeholder communication
• Champion Agile principles across the organisation, contributing to increased Agile maturity
• Support demo preparation and ensure alignment with project priorities and outcomes

Technical Skills & Tools

• Agile frameworks: Scrum (required), Kanban (knowledgeable)
• Jira (beginner level, recent experience 1–3 years)
• Confluence (beginner level, recent experience 1–3 years)
• Azure DevOps (beginner level, recent experience 1–3 years)
• Microsoft Teams (beginner level, recent experience 1–3 years)

Language Proficiency

• Dutch — Active working proficiency (required)
• French — Active working proficiency (required)
• English — Nice to have

Other Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
• 0–5 years of experience as a Scrum Master or within an Agile team environment
• Strong communication skills, team-oriented, eager to learn, and solution-driven
• Full-time availability for the 12-month project duration
• First experience in the public sector is a plus, but not required
• Most recent relevant experience: 1–3 years ago
• On-site presence in Brussels required (no remote work option)
