About the Role

We are seeking an elite Full-stack Developer to join our client’s mission-critical project, driving the evolution of a complex, modular single-page application that supports the backbone of public sector operations. This freelance opportunity is your chance to shape the digital infrastructure for civil servants, ensuring performance, security, and seamless user experience across multilingual environments.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the development and completion of the "Evalfed" and "Cartofed" modules within a sophisticated single-page application.
• Design, implement, and optimize complex data models using PostgreSQL and PHP, leveraging the Laravel framework and Laravel Nova for configuration management.
• Drive both backend and frontend development, utilizing Tailwind CSS, Vue.js, and Livewire to deliver seamless, high-performance user interfaces.
• Ensure code quality and reliability through rigorous unit testing with PHPUnit and maintain code integrity using GitLab.
• Collaborate within a multilingual, agile team, actively participating in project tracking via Jira and contributing to DevOps practices.
• Utilize Docker for streamlined development environments and Phan for code quality assurance (knowledge of these tools is a plus, not a must).
• Champion performance, security, and scalability improvements across all modules.
• Engage in configuration-driven development, supporting applications composed of multiple modules and languages.

Technical Skills

• Expert-level PHP and Laravel development, including recent hands-on experience
• Confirmed experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL
• Proficiency with Laravel Nova (junior to confirmed level)
• Strong frontend skills with Tailwind CSS, Vue.js, and Livewire
• Unit testing expertise with PHPUnit
• Confirmed Git proficiency and experience with GitLab
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and agile teamwork
• Experience with Docker and Phan is a plus
• Understanding of caching and Redis (junior level)
• Experience with configuration-driven and modular application development

Language Proficiency

• Native proficiency in Dutch or French
• Active working knowledge of English (project language)

Other Requirements

• Proven experience developing single-page and configuration-oriented applications
• Experience working in multilingual and multi-module environments
• Ability to thrive in agile, collaborative teams
• Ownership mindset with a focus on outcomes, problem-solving, and impact
• Experience with QA tools for pipelines and Behat is a plus
• Hybrid work environment (Brussels-based with remote flexibility)
• This is a freelance position with a fixed 13-month project duration
