We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer (Freelance) for a 15-month mission-critical project with our client in Antwerp, Belgium. What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing and developing robust backend services using Node.js (TypeScript-first approach)
• Building performant, maintainable frontends with React
• Working with PostgreSQL in a production environment to ensure data integrity and performance
• Contributing to architectural decisions, focusing on scalability, security, and technical excellence
• Implementing test automation and monitoring code quality to ensure high standards
• Collaborating within an Agile/Scrum team, driving continuous improvement in ways of working
• Coaching and mentoring fellow developers, elevating the team’s technical maturity
• Taking ownership of technical choices and development standards across the platform

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience developing web-based applications at a senior level
• Demonstrated leadership in development teams and coaching other developers
• Ability to execute programming tasks efficiently: coding, testing, debugging
• Ownership mindset with a drive for quality, scalability, and impact
• Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, with experience taking a leading role
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, builder-first attitude

Technical Skills

• Node.js (TypeScript-first) for backend development
• React for modern frontend applications
• PostgreSQL and relational database management in production environments
• TypeScript and JavaScript in production settings
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure) is a plus
• Docker and containerization
• Test automation and CI/CD pipelines
• IT code and NDA signing required

Language Proficiency

• Dutch at European CEFR level C2 (mandatory)

Other Requirements

• Freelance position with a 15-month initial duration (extension possible)
• Ability to complete and attach required annexes (IT code, NDA, CV) as part of the application
• Willingness to work within the framework agreement and project guidelines
