We are seeking an experienced Technical Business/Data Analyst to join our dynamic and fast-paced team. In this role, you will support and deliver a wide range of business requests by combining strong analytical thinking, technical expertise, and effective communication skills. You will collaborate closely with engineering and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality data, improve processes, and drive value across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse and enhance data quality using Jupyter Notebooks within data lake environments such as Google Cloud Platform or Hadoop.
• Review, analyse, and improve PL/SQL code while managing changes, issues, and commit history through GitHub.
• Collaborate with the Engineering Scrum team to refine user stories, understand technical challenges, and support solution delivery.
• Align static reference data across four business segments and explore Product Taxonomy structures.
• Develop and execute advanced SQL queries and Python (Pandas) scripts to analyse large datasets.
• Participate in project ceremonies including planning sessions, status meetings, and Sprint reviews.
• Provide troubleshooting and technical support for data-related issues.

Skills and Experience

• Strong technical knowledge of the Hadoop ecosystem or Google Cloud Platform.
• Proven experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, and solution design.
• Ability to break down requirements into detailed components and translate business needs for technical teams.
• Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies; proficiency with Confluence and JIRA.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and independent working skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with experience engaging stakeholders at all levels.
• Expertise in system analysis, including APIs, data mapping, and integration.
• Hands-on experience in data mastering, data governance processes, and data lake architectures.
• Good understanding of metadata management and data modelling; physical data modelling experience is a plus.
• Exposure to NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) is advantageous.
• Experience working across regions with senior stakeholders and solving problems using structured and creative thinking.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in data analytics or related fields.
• Experience in the financial services sector is preferred.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
