🎯 Role Overview

For a long-term assignment, we are looking for an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer / Specialist – Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) with solid experience in assessing and mitigating cybersecurity risks in all areas, particularly in cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, and Entra ID.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in cloud security, governance, risk management, and post-merger integration strategies. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to protect the organization's investments and ensure the smooth integration of acquired entities.


🔐 Key Responsibilities

Cybersecurity Assessments for M&A

  • Conduct detailed cybersecurity assessments during due diligence and post-acquisition phases.
  • Identify risks across governance, infrastructure, data protection, applications, and identity & access management.

Cloud Security Evaluation

  • Assess cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Entra ID) for vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and compliance gaps.
  • Use cloud-native tools like Azure Security Center and AWS Security Hub, as well as third-party solutions.

Risk Management & Reporting

  • Analyze and communicate cyber risks to stakeholders with clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Produce comprehensive risk assessment reports and integrate findings into the organization’s risk register.

Compliance & Regulatory Alignment

  • Ensure adherence to standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, and other international frameworks.
  • Verify that cloud and on-premise environments meet security and compliance requirements.

Post-Merger Integration

  • Lead security integration activities to ensure newly acquired entities align with group security policies.
  • Develop and execute integration roadmaps for IT infrastructure, data, and operations.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with M&A teams, IT groups, and business stakeholders to align cybersecurity priorities.
  • Clearly communicate technical risks to non-technical audiences.


🧠 Required Skills

Technical Cybersecurity Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure, network security, data protection, and application security.
  • Hands-on experience assessing and securing cloud and hybrid environments.

M&A Experience

  • Proven ability to identify and manage cybersecurity risks across the full M&A lifecycle.
  • Understanding of the unique time-sensitive and operational challenges of M&A activities.

Risk Management

  • Expertise in analyzing, quantifying, and mitigating cybersecurity risks.

Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of GDPR and global cybersecurity standards relevant to M&A.

Communication & Leadership

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical risks simply and clearly.
  • Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional and multicultural teams.


🎓 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, IT, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
  • Significant cybersecurity experience within multinational environments.
  • Relevant certifications are an asset: CISSP, CISM, CCSP, AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer, etc.
