Cybersecurity Specialist - Short‑Term Contract - Perth

Your new role
- Act as a technical resource to deliver cybersecurity and operational projects across Microsoft Azure cloud-hosted systems and network infrastructure.
- Provide technical planning, design, and implementation services, including proof-of-concept and development testing.
- Adapt to evolving technology and customer requirements, ensuring solutions remain secure and effective.
- Create and maintain technical documentation (architecture, configuration, and operational guides).
- Collaborate with diverse teams and liaise with stakeholders to deliver outcomes aligned with organisational goals.
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Microsoft Azure cloud and networking infrastructure.
- Hands-on expertise in:
- Azure IaaS & PaaS
- Microsoft Server OS & Core Infrastructure (AD, GPO, ADFS, DNS, DHCP)
- Next-generation firewalls & web application firewalls
- Networking technologies (NAC, proxy, load balancing)
- PowerShell scripting
- Formal Microsoft technical cloud certification
- Desirable skills:
- Knowledge of Zero Trust principles, ASD Strategies, and WA Cybersecurity Policy
- Familiarity with RedHat/Oracle Linux
- Threat modelling, risk mitigation, and secure-by-design approaches
- Exposure to SD-WAN, VPN, Azure Firewall, Bastion, Private Endpoints
- Microsoft certifications (AZ-104, AZ-500, MS-500, SC-200, MS-101)
- Vendor experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet, Tenable, Intune/SCCM
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team.
