We are seeking an elite Full-stack Developer for a high-impact freelance assignment with our client in Brussels. This is your opportunity to shape a mission-critical application that supports the backbone of public service, working alongside a multilingual, builder-driven team.

As a Full-stack Developer, you will take ownership of the "Cartofed" module within the Crescendo 2 application — a single-page, multi-module platform that empowers job management and function weighting for civil servants. Your work will directly influence the efficiency, security, and performance of a system relied upon by thousands, driving digital transformation at scale. The stakes are high: your expertise will help finalize and elevate a platform that underpins public sector excellence.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead the development and completion of the "Cartofed" module within a complex, configuration-driven single-page application.
• Design, implement, and optimize backend logic using PHP, Laravel, and PostgreSQL, ensuring robust data models and secure, high-performance operations.
• Drive frontend development with Tailwind CSS and Laravel Livewire, delivering seamless user experiences.
• Develop and maintain unit tests using PHPUnit to guarantee code quality and reliability.
• Utilize GitLab for version control and collaborate within an agile, kanban-driven team environment using Jira.
• Contribute to DevOps practices, leveraging Docker for streamlined setup and Phan for code quality assurance (knowledge of Docker and Phan is a plus, not a must).
• Engage in a multilingual team (Dutch, French, English), ensuring clear communication and collaboration across languages.
• Champion best practices in security, performance, and modular architecture throughout the development lifecycle.

What we’re looking for

• Proven expertise in PHP and Laravel (including Livewire and Nova), with recent hands-on experience in complex, configuration-driven applications.
• Advanced skills in PostgreSQL and confirmed experience with MySQL.
• Strong frontend capabilities with Tailwind CSS and a solid grasp of modern SPA architecture.
• Experience with unit testing (PHPUnit) and a commitment to code quality.
• Fluency with Git and agile development workflows; familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines is valued.
• Experience working in multilingual, modular, and multi-team environments.
• Ownership mindset: you take initiative, solve problems, and drive impact beyond your code.
• Bonus: Experience with Docker, Phan, Vue.js, Nuxt, Behat, and QA tools for pipelines.
