Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a talented Senior Network Engineer who excels in a dynamic environment and provides outstanding customer support. You will be responsible for creating robust network environments using Cisco technologies, Fortinet firewalls, and cloud networking solutions. You will design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable network solutions while ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

What will you be doing?

• Design & Build: Develop detailed network designs and architectures for Cisco ISE, Cisco switches, Cisco WLAN, Fortinet firewalls, and cloud networking environments
• Implementation: Oversee the deployment and configuration of network infrastructure components
• Testing: Create and execute test plans to validate network designs and configurations
• Documentation: Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation, including as-built designs and network diagrams
• Support: Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for network-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to align network designs with business objectives
• Provide technical advice, troubleshoot issues, manage projects, and ensure systems are optimised for efficiency and effectiveness
• Set up and configure systems, including servers, software, and networks
• Create technical documentation, user manuals, and training materials
• Communicate technical information effectively to technical and non-technical audiences
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and security standards
• Diagnose complex technical problems and develop effective solutions
• Identify opportunities to improve technical processes and enhance user experience
  

Skills and experience required to succeed in this role?

• 5+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on Cisco technologies, Fortinet solutions, and cloud networking
• Experience with:
  • Cisco ISE, Cisco switches/routers, Cisco WLAN
  • Fortinet firewalls, FortiEMS, and related network tooling
  • Routing, Switching, Wireless, SD-WAN, Load Balancing
  • Cloud Networking
  • DNS, DHCP, IP Address Management (DDI)
• Strong understanding of network protocols, architecture, and security best practices
• Proven experience in creating network designs, as-built documentation, and test plans
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Ability to work onsite in Canberra, ACT
• NV1 Clearance or above.
