We are looking for five experienced Test Automation Engineers for a long-term assignment within the Federal Public Service Finance. You will join a large-scale, strategic IT modernization program and play a key role in safeguarding software quality for business-critical systems.


๐ŸŒ Context

As a Test Automation Engineer / Consultant, you will contribute to the redevelopment of a major federal application as part of a transition from a monolithic system to a modern microservices architecture.

The environment is complex, highly regulated, and comparable to banking and accounting systems (payments, accounts, refunds, transactions).

You will work closely with developers, functional analysts, and QA teams in an Agile setup and be involved in each user story from the very beginning.


๐Ÿงญ Working Method

In this role, you will:

  • Design and maintain recurring automated tests, including mocking
  • Create, manage, and maintain test datasets
  • Execute tests within the TAF environment
  • Collaborate continuously with analysts and developers
  • Follow the standards and guidelines of the central QA & Control team
  • Contribute to cross-team coordination of test automation

Strong anticipation skills, flexibility, and clear communication across teams are essential.


๐Ÿ—๏ธ Project Scope

You will participate in a strategic rewrite project covering domains such as:

  • Accounting management
  • Transactions and orders
  • Business rules
  • Interfaces

The application landscape includes microservices, APIs, messaging, and containerized environments.


๐Ÿงฉ Your Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated test solutions
  • Clarify functional and non-functional requirements
  • Create test plans and document test results
  • Report on software quality to stakeholders (developers, analysts, QA, team leads, management)
  • Contribute to test automation strategy, coverage, tooling, and architecture
  • Coach and guide colleagues within the testing domain


โœ… Required Competencies

Functional & Methodological (Must-have)

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in test automation
  • Strong experience in analyzing functional and non-functional requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of test methodologies (ISTQB certification or equivalent preferred)
  • Proven experience in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrable experience in coaching and mentoring testers


Technical (Must-have)

  • Strong knowledge of Gherkin and Playwright or Selenium
  • Experience with BDD and tools such as Cucumber
  • Thorough knowledge of XRAY
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence
  • Strong programming skills, preferably Java
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, JSON, XML, OpenAPI, Angular, Spring Boot, HTML
  • Experience with API testing (Postman, SoapUI, automated via Java/Spring Boot)
  • Solid understanding of API concepts: idempotence, versioning, pagination, error handling, DLQ, Belgif
  • Experience with message queuing systems (ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ)
  • Strong knowledge of databases, SQL, and test datasets
  • Basic knowledge of containerized environments (Kubernetes, Pods, Clusters) and tools such as GitLab, ArgoCD, Helm, Harbor, Lens
