About The Role

Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled AEM Front-End Developer to join our team on a 6-month contract basis, working with one of our major banking clients. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in transforming and enhancing the client’s digital presence through advanced front-end development within Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). This role requires a proactive individual with a strong technical background, capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams to re-vamp, re-design, and re-architect existing websites to improve user experience, performance, and maintainability. The developer will dedicate approximately 70% of their time to hands-on development activities, including coding, component creation, and system integration, while the remaining 30% will involve code reviews, standards enforcement, and technical documentation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering high-quality digital solutions and a keen eye for detail, ensuring that all deliverables align with project goals and industry best practices.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a combination of technical expertise and practical experience, including:

• 3-6 years of experience working as a front-end developer, with at least 3 years dedicated to AEM projects utilizing the latest Adobe archetypes, ui.frontend module, and webpack.
• Proficiency in CSS3, HTML5, SCSS, BEM methodology, JavaScript, and Webpack.
• Hands-on experience with developing on AEM 6.5, AMS, and AEMAACS SDKs.
• Familiarity with AEM core components and the ability to customize and extend them as needed.
• Experience using the AEM style system, creating client libraries, templates, and component policies within the AEM interface.
• Strong collaboration skills, with prior experience working with visual designers to interpret requirements, develop user stories, and resolve design conflicts.
• Knowledge of front-end performance optimization strategies and best practices.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks for front-end code to ensure quality and reliability.
• Familiarity with the AEM Coral UI framework and customizing AEM touch UI, dialogs, and plugins.
• Proficiency in coding components using HTL, Sling models, OSGi, and authoring dialogs.
• Understanding of Apache rewrites and dispatcher configuration for optimal performance and security.
• Experience troubleshooting using server logs, AEM logs, and Unix shell commands.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, working within Scrum teams, and using JIRA for task management.

• Developing and implementing front-end components in AEM using modern web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and SCSS.
• Creating and maintaining reusable client libraries, templates, and component policies within AEM to ensure consistency and efficiency.
• Customizing AEM core components and extending functionality to meet project-specific requirements.
• Integrating front-end code with AEM backend systems using HTL, Sling models, and OSGi services.
• Collaborating closely with visual designers, UX/UI teams, and backend developers to interpret design requirements and translate them into functional components.
• Conducting code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and AEM development guidelines.
• Optimizing front-end performance by implementing best practices, minimizing load times, and enhancing user experience.
• Participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and other Agile ceremonies to ensure timely delivery of features and fixes.
• Debugging and troubleshooting issues related to AEM components, server logs, and deployment environments.
• Configuring and managing Apache dispatcher and rewrite rules to support site performance and security.
