Software Test Engineer – High-Tech Systems

The Position

As part of our expanding team, we are looking for a Software Engineer with a passion for complex systems and cutting-edge technology. You will work on high-impact projects.

The role :

As a Software Test Engineer, your main responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain simulation tools and models for optical and electronic systems using MATLAB/Simulink and related environments.
• Design and implement algorithms for system-level modeling, signal processing, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with optical, electrical, and mechanical engineers to translate physical system requirements into software models.
• Analyze simulation results and propose design improvements based on physical and mathematical principles.
• Support experimental validation through data analysis, test automation, and prototype evaluation.
• Contribute to software documentation, version control, and continuous integration workflows.
• Stay current with emerging technologies in optics, semiconductor physics, and simulation methodologies.

Your Profile

• Bachelor's, Master’s or Ph.D. in Physics, Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
• Proven experience with MATLAB/Simulink for system modelling and simulation.
• Knowledge in optics, photonic systems, or semiconductor device physics.
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming (Python, C++, or similar).
• Experience with data analysis, numerical methods, and algorithm development.
• Knowledge of version control systems (Git) and collaborative software development practices.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); Dutch is a plus.
