Cybersecurity, Summer Job
We’re looking for a Summer Trainee to join our Gaming Product Security team within the Cyber Security unit, where you'll learn the lifecycle of cybersecurity in game development - from threat modeling and triage to mitigation, hardening and validation. This position is 3 months fixed term, May – August, and full-time. Exact dates upon agreement.

The position is located at Veikkaus’ headquarters in Pohjois-Haaga, Helsinki. We work flexibly in a hybrid model. To foster collaboration and effective teamwork, we meet at the office three times a week.

What You’ll Do
You’ll support the Gaming Product Security team with hands‑on, real‑world security work, including:
- Everyday security ops & housekeeping: keep our dashboards, tickets, and artifacts tidy and up to date; help with security communications and notes.
- Documentation: write or improve runbooks, “how‑to”s, and architecture / threat‑model notes that bring actual value.
- Vulnerability management: triage findings (SCA/SAST/DAST/cloud), verify impact, chase mitigations with owners, and track to closure.
- Cloud security hardening: assist in testing and improving baseline controls and guardrails (GCP/AWS).
- Penetration testing support: scope and execute supervised tests against services and APIs, reproduce issues, and help developers with practical fixes.
- Ongoing university studies in a relevant field (Bachelor’s or Master’s level) - e.g information security, computer science or software engineering.
- Familiarity with modern application development, such as APIs, microservices, CI/CD, containers, and public cloud platforms (AWS or GCP), gained through courses, labs, or personal projects.
- Curiosity for product and application security and secure‑by‑design thinking; motivated to learn and use practices like vulnerability scanning, threat modeling, and security testing.
- Structured, collaborative working style — able to break problems into clear steps, follow through, and work well with others.
- Clear communication in English, both written and spoken.
