About the Role
We’re seeking a Frontend Developer (Freelance) to join our client’s digital transformation journey in Ghent & Brussels. This is an 18-month freelance assignment where your expertise will directly shape the digital landscape for a high-impact public sector initiative. You’ll be at the heart of a project that matters — building robust, scalable, and user-centric web solutions that empower citizens and drive innovation.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the development and delivery of application-based software, ensuring high performance and maintainability.
- Coach and guide a team of developers, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
- Execute programming assignments with fluency: coding, testing, debugging, and deploying robust solutions.
- Drive Agile development practices, taking a leadership role in Scrum ceremonies and iterative delivery.
- Integrate Craft CMS and Microsoft Dynamics, ensuring seamless data flow and user experience.
- Implement QR code integrations and web platform enhancements to support innovative digital services.
- Utilize PHP, JavaScript, CSS3, HTML5, SQL, and Git to build and maintain scalable web applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions aligned with public sector requirements and the “do no significant harm” (DNSH) principle.
- Ensure all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, security, and accessibility.
Technical Skills
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrable experience developing application-based software (Senior level).
- Proven expertise with Craft CMS and Microsoft Dynamics integrations.
- Advanced proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, CSS3, and HTML5.
- Experience with QR code integration, SQL, and Git.
- Solid background in Agile methodologies, with at least 4 years of hands-on Scrum experience (Intermediate level or higher).
- Demonstrable experience with web platform development.
Language Proficiency
- Fluency in Dutch at European CEFR level C2 is mandatory.
