VP of Sales – Fintech Core Banking SaaS (remote first).
We’re supporting a well-funded European fintech SaaS startup that’s building a modern core banking platform for banks, FinTechs, and regulated financial institutions.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a true build role at a company with:
- A strong product already live,
- Paying enterprise customers,
- Positive EBITDA,
- Clear ambition towards Series A and beyond.
The CEO is genuinely great to work with, the CTO is based in the Netherlands, and the leadership team combines deep banking, engineering, and startup experience.
Now they’re ready to bring in their first senior sales leader to scale internationally.
The Role: As VP of Sales, you will own and build the entire commercial engine. This is not a “maintain what exists” role. It’s a hands-on, from-scratch leadership role with real influence.
You will:
- Lead enterprise B2B sales of a core banking SaaS platform,
- Personally close complex, C-level deals (ACV €150k+),
- Build and scale the sales team over time,
- Shape go-to-market strategy across Europe (UK included),
- Work closely with the CEO, CTO, and marketing to sharpen positioning,
- Build a partner-led sales ecosystem (SIs, consultancies, fintech partners),
- Represent the company at key industry events (e.g. FiBe, Money20/20).
Sales cycles are 3–6 months, regulated, and consultative.
Working with Marketing (Important). This is not a marketing role, but marketing collaboration is critical as you will direct and shape marketing priorities, not execute campaigns yourself.
This means you work closely with marketing as the commercial lead, translating real customer conversations into clear messaging, pitch decks, sales and partner collateral, and event positioning. You will guide marketing on what actually helps close enterprise deals and ensure all materials are aligned with regulated markets, enterprise buyers, and long sales cycles.
Who this is for: This role is ideal if you are:
- A senior sales leader (VP Sales / Head of Sales / CRO),
- Experienced in fintech, payments, core banking, or financial infrastructure,
- Comfortable selling complex enterprise SaaS,
- Someone who has seen a startup scale… and now wants to build again,
- Energized by autonomy, ownership, and impact,
- Happy to work remotely, with travel where it makes sense.
Backgrounds from core banking vendors, payments infrastructure, or fintech scale-ups are especially relevant.
Location:
- Amsterdam, remote-first,
- The Netherlands is a strong strategic hub (and home to the CTO), but location is flexible.
Compensation & upside:
- Competitive base salary (senior market level),
- Strong OTE,
- Meaningful stock options via an existing option plan,
- Clear path towards Series B or exit within 2–3 years.
This is a role for someone who wants both short-term impact and long-term upside.
Why this is different:
- First senior sales hire,
- Real product, real customers, real revenue,
- No heavy corporate layers,
- Direct access to decision-makers,
- Trust, autonomy, and speed,
- A genuinely good leadership team.
