Junior Network Engineer (Entry Level)

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Network Engineer to support the installation, maintenance, and monitoring of network infrastructure. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates with foundational networking knowledge who are eager to gain hands-on experience in enterprise network environments.

You will work under the guidance of senior network engineers and help ensure network availability, performance, and security.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and maintaining network infrastructure
• Support network devices such as switches, routers, and firewalls
• Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi)
• Assist with network installations, upgrades, and configuration tasks
• Respond to network-related incidents and service requests
• Maintain network documentation and diagrams
• Follow network security and operational best practices
• Escalate complex network issues to senior engineers

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, OSI model, DNS, DHCP)
• Familiarity with LAN, WAN, and wireless networking fundamentals
• Basic knowledge of network hardware (switches, routers, firewalls)
• Understanding of Windows and/or Linux fundamentals
• Willingness to learn and develop networking skills
• Good troubleshooting and analytical abilities
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred (Not Mandatory)

• Networking certification or training (CCNA, Network+, or equivalent – completed or in progress)
• Hands-on lab, academic, or internship experience with networks
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools
• Exposure to cloud networking concepts (Azure or AWS fundamentals)
