Junior Network Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a Junior Network Engineer to support the maintenance and monitoring of network infrastructure. This role is suitable for individuals starting their career in networking who want to gain hands-on experience with network systems, troubleshooting, and infrastructure support.

You will work with senior engineers to help ensure network reliability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and maintaining network infrastructure
• Support the installation and configuration of network devices such as routers and switches
• Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues
• Assist with network documentation and configuration records
• Support system updates and routine network maintenance tasks
• Help monitor network performance and report issues when identified
• Escalate complex network problems to senior engineers

Required Skills

• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
• Familiarity with routers, switches, and network devices
• Basic knowledge of Windows or Linux operating systems
• Understanding of LAN/WAN and Wi-Fi networks
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Willingness to learn and develop networking skills

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to Cisco networking equipment or similar platforms
• Basic knowledge of network security concepts
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools
• Coursework, certification preparation, or labs related to networking

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Entry-level candidates, recent graduates, or individuals with networking training are encouraged to apply
