About the Role
We are looking for a Junior Network Engineer to support the maintenance and monitoring of network infrastructure. This role is suitable for individuals starting their career in networking who want to gain hands-on experience with network systems, troubleshooting, and infrastructure support.
You will work with senior engineers to help ensure network reliability, security, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining network infrastructure
- Support the installation and configuration of network devices such as routers and switches
- Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues
- Assist with network documentation and configuration records
- Support system updates and routine network maintenance tasks
- Help monitor network performance and report issues when identified
- Escalate complex network problems to senior engineers
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Familiarity with routers, switches, and network devices
- Basic knowledge of Windows or Linux operating systems
- Understanding of LAN/WAN and Wi-Fi networks
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Willingness to learn and develop networking skills
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to Cisco networking equipment or similar platforms
- Basic knowledge of network security concepts
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools
- Coursework, certification preparation, or labs related to networking
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
