Cyber Security Analyst

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive Cybersecurity Analyst with 3 years of hands-on experience to monitor, detect, and respond to security threats across systems and networks. You will play a key role in protecting organisational assets, supporting incident response, and improving security posture through continuous monitoring and analysis.

This role is ideal for professionals who have progressed beyond entry-level security roles and are comfortable working in operational security environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM and security tools
• Analyse and respond to security incidents and potential threats
• Conduct initial investigation and triage of security alerts
• Support incident response and remediation activities
• Assist with vulnerability management and patching processes
• Work with IT and infrastructure teams to apply security controls
• Support security policy implementation and compliance requirements
• Maintain accurate incident reports and security documentation
• Participate in security assessments and reviews

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or SOC roles
• Hands-on experience with SIEM tools and security monitoring
• Strong understanding of security principles and threat detection
• Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs, DNS)
• Experience with Windows and/or Linux environments
• Familiarity with endpoint security and monitoring tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills

Preferred (Not Mandatory)

• Experience working in a Security Operations Centre (SOC)
• Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Knowledge of vulnerability scanning and remediation tools
• Experience with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS)
• Security certifications (Security+, CEH, or equivalent)
