About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff iOS Engineer to join our dynamic software studio located in Toronto, Canada. In this role, you will lead and inspire a team of talented mobile developers to create innovative financial products that enhance the customer experience. You will be responsible for managing the delivery of major components and platform needs, collaborating with senior engineers and architects to shape technical strategies, and participating actively in hands-on development. Our focus is on delivering high-quality, scalable, and secure mobile applications that revolutionize how Canadians manage their credit and financial health.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of iOS development, a passion for technology, and a proven track record of leading full-cycle software projects. You will contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, mentorship, and innovation, helping to shape the future of mobile banking services at Capital One Canada. Our team is committed to leveraging cloud-native technologies, open-source frameworks, and agile methodologies to rapidly deploy new features and stay ahead in the digital banking landscape.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience developing native iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI.
  • Extensive experience in application design, technical architecture, and full-cycle development.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring junior and intermediate developers, and guiding technical and business stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of mobile development best practices, security, and performance optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the delivery of major components and platform needs in partnership with senior engineers and architects, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards.
  • Work collaboratively within a dynamic mobile team throughout all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle, including planning, development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Enhance software engineering practices by designing, developing, testing, and supporting technical solutions across a full stack of development tools and technologies.
  • Contribute expertise on how evolving technology impacts the domain, recommending innovative solutions and best practices.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior, intermediate, and senior mobile developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and collaborative problem-solving to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating relevant innovations into our development processes.
