Software Engineering Manager

Hands on Engineering Manager | .NET / Azure | $230k + Super

We are working closely with a multinational tech company who have a large presence in their industry.

Their tech stack is at the forefront of the company and they are keen to add a leader to their ranks who has helped scale large platforms throughout their career.

The stack covers .NET and Azure for the most part, and it is essentially a hands-on management role.

Requirements

• 7+ years of commercial software development experience with strong expertise in .NET / C#
• Proven hands-on experience building and deploying systems on Microsoft Azure (App Services, Functions, SQL, Storage, Service Bus)
• Previous experience leading or managing engineers while remaining technically hands-on
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture, APIs, and distributed systems
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and modern DevOps practices (e.g. Azure DevOps, Bicep/Terraform)
• They are looking for candidates to have worked in the banking, insurance or construction sectors due to the complex nature of their products.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scalable .NET-based solutions hosted on Azure
• Remain hands-on in code, contributing to core services, reviews, and complex problem-solving
• Manage and mentor engineers, setting technical direction and delivery standards
• Collaborate with product and stakeholders to plan, scope, and deliver high-quality solutions
• Own technical quality across security, performance, reliability, and cloud cost efficiency

Salary

They offer an excellent salary of up to $230,000 + Super.

Sydney - Hybrid
