Full Stack Developer

Arbonaut is a technology company providing Geographic Information Systems for managing natural resources, especially forests, worldwide. Our customers are private and public organizations on all continents. We employ around 80 people from more than 15 different countries. 

We are now strengthening our cloud‑native development capabilities and are looking for a Full Stack Developer with strong DevOps and Infrastructure‑as‑Code skills to join our growing team of Arbonautees. 

What type of job opportunities do we offer? 

In your position as a Full Stack Developer you will be part of a project or product team and help us to maintain and improve our existing services, in addition to planning and implementing new services for our customers. You are responsible for delivering high‑quality, maintainable software that provides real value—while also contributing to the reliability, scalability and automation of our cloud environments. 

What type of candidate are we looking for? 

We’re looking for a motivated application development professional to join our team—someone who takes initiative and is comfortable working independently. Strong collaboration skills and a true team-player mindset are essential to us. Fluency in English is required, as it is our working language, but proficiency in Finnish is considered an asset. 

Key qualifications for this role include:

• 6+ years of experience in application development (backend and front end) 
• 4+ years of experience developing native cloud applications in Azure cloud 
• Understanding of basic concepts of Geographic Information management and Geographic Information Systems 

Hands-on experience with: 

• Terraform (preferred) and other IaC tools  
• Azure DevOps pipelines (CI/CD)  
• Containerized microservices, Azure Container Apps, Docker, etc.  
• Java / Spring Boot backend development  
• React frontend development 
• API development and integrations 

We also appreciate experience with: 

• GIS related opensource solutions such as GeoServer, Mapserver, OpenLayers 
• Developing native cloud applications in Amazon Web Services 
• CI/CD pipelines 
• Test automation 
• Rust or other development languages
