Database Administrator

We are seeking a Database Administrator to manage, optimize, and support PostgreSQL-based database environments in a complex, data-driven system.

Requirements:

• Strong experience with SQL
• Hands-on experience managing PostgreSQL environments
• Entry to intermediate experience with cloud database technologies (AWS)
• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL architecture
• Knowledge of Linux servers and networking fundamentals
• Experience with database security, backup, and recovery strategies
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Good organizational skills, ownership mindset, and attention to detail
• Professional English communication skills

Role & Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, upgrade, and manage database servers and clusters
• Monitor database performance, availability, and stability
• Optimize database security, access control, and compliance with data policies
• Create and maintain databases, schemas, and database standards
• Perform SQL query tuning and support schema design and code reviews
• Conduct root cause analysis and resolve production incidents and data issues
• Provide operational support (tickets and ad-hoc requests)
• Automate recurring database administration tasks
• Ensure databases are backed up, recoverable, and consistent
• Configure and maintain logical replication and related solutions
• Collaborate closely with developers and other stakeholders to improve application performance
• Produce and maintain technical documentation

• Hybrid - Ideally someone who can come into the office (Riga) 3-4 times a month
