Network Engineer – Brigham, England, United Kingdom (On‑Site)

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Network Engineer with 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in designing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise network environments. The ideal candidate will support day‑to‑day network operations, troubleshoot issues, ensure network availability, and assist with ongoing infrastructure improvements.

This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure.
  • Monitor network performance and ensure high levels of availability, security, and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot network issues across LAN, WAN, and VPN environments.
  • Assist in implementing network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure enhancements.
  • Manage network documentation, diagrams, inventory, and configurations.
  • Perform routine network audits and support compliance initiatives.
  • Support end‑users and internal teams with connectivity and network‑related issues.
  • Work with vendors and service providers to resolve technical issues and ensure SLA adherence.
  • Participate in on‑call rotation for critical incidents (as required).

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of experience in network administration or engineering.
  • Strong hands‑on expertise with Cisco, HP, MikroTik, or similar networking technologies.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, BGP, OSPF, and routing/switching fundamentals.
  • Experience with firewalls (e.g., Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Sophos).
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
  • Familiarity with network security standards and best practices.
  • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network issues.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Network+, or equivalent.
  • Experience with cloud networking (Azure/AWS) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of VoIP and wireless technologies.
  • Experience working in ITIL‑based environments.
