Senior AI Engineer – Stockholm (Hybrid)

A fast‑growing digital product company is looking for a Senior AI Engineer to help shape how AI is used across the product and internal systems. The business has a strong customer base, a modern tech culture, and a track record of building simple, impactful digital experiences with a focus on quality, speed and user value.

The engineering and product organisation is around 20 people, with a flat, collaborative culture and plenty of ownership. This role will be the first AI‑focused hire and will play a key part in exploring where AI can make a meaningful difference.

About the role

You’ll work closely with product, design and engineering to bring AI‑powered features into a large consumer-facing product. This includes automating parts of the customer journey, building internal tools, improving existing systems and shaping new ideas from concept to production.

This is not a research role. You’ll spend most of your time designing, building and deploying real AI features that have direct impact on users and internal workflows.

What you’ll be doing

• Building AI‑powered features into the product experience
• Designing systems that use LLMs and other AI technologies reliably in production
• Working across teams to turn ideas into working solutions
• Improving backend systems and contributing to the broader platform
• Exploring where AI adds the most value without unnecessary complexity
• Owning projects from concept through to delivery

You’ll work with a modern engineering setup that includes:

• Kotlin with Spring Boot on the backend
• Next.js and Vercel for web
• Native mobile apps in Swift and Kotlin
• GraphQL
• Microservice architecture
• AWS as the primary cloud platform, with some use of GCP

You don’t need to know every technology listed, but strong engineering fundamentals are essential.

What makes you a great fit

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong computer science fundamentals and good judgment in system design
• Hands‑on experience building AI or LLM‑driven features in a real product
• Comfortable working with ambiguity and shaping early ideas
• Able to collaborate well with product, design and engineering teams
• Motivated by solving real customer problems and shipping useful features
• Curious, pragmatic and eager to keep learning
