Job Purpose

The IT Business Analyst – IT/OT is responsible for analyzing business and plant operational requirements, documenting system specifications, supporting IT/OT applications, and supervising development and testing activities.

The role ensures availability, performance, and enhancement of plant operational systems including Honeywell and Baker Hughes applications, while aligning IT solutions with business needs. Customer satisfaction, system reliability, and timely delivery are key success factors.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Analysis & Requirement Gathering

  • Consult with end-users to identify and document business requirements.
  • Translate requirements into functional specifications and logical process flows.
  • Develop system documentation and ensure clarity for technical teams.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and obtain sign-offs.

2. IT/OT Application Support (Plant Systems)

Honeywell Applications Support:

  • PIMS (Plant Information Management Systems)
  • PHD (Process Historian Database)
  • UPS (Uniformance Process Studio)
  • PCT (PHD Configuration Tool)
  • AFM (Advanced Formula Manager)
  • Uniformance Excel Companion
  • AMS (Alarm Management System)
  • Operations Monitoring & Production Balance systems

Baker Hughes Systems Support:

  • Maintain system functionality aligned with plant operations.
  • Ensure high availability with minimal downtime.
  • Coordinate with vendors, plant teams, and IT for system improvements.
  • Perform configuration updates and program modifications.

3. System Development & Integration

  • Develop web applications, web services, and Windows-based applications.
  • Work with:
  • HTML
  • JavaScript
  • .NET technologies
  • Supervise or execute programming activities.
  • Perform system enhancements and optimization.

4. System Testing & Maintenance

  • Conduct unit testing and regression testing.
  • Ensure compliance with business requirements.
  • Perform patch management activities.
  • Revise and enhance existing programs to improve efficiency.
  • Write installation guides, testing procedures, and user manuals.

5. Incident & Problem Management

  • Investigate system malfunctions.
  • Perform root cause analysis.
  • Coordinate resolution with vendors and plant IT.
  • Prevent recurring technical issues.

6. Governance & Compliance

  • Comply with Integrated Management Systems (Quality, Environment, HSE, Energy).
  • Follow IT policies, procedures, and methodologies.
  • Align work with organizational vision, mission, and strategic objectives.

Educational Qualification & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / Engineering or related field
  • Relevant professional certifications preferred

Experience

  • 5+ years of IT experience in Plant Operations / IT-OT environments
  • 3–5 years of hands-on .NET development experience
  • Strong experience supporting Honeywell systems
  • Experience working with Baker Hughes plant systems
