About The Role

As a Staff iOS Engineer at Capital One Canada, you will play a pivotal role in leading the development of innovative mobile solutions that enhance customer experience. You will be responsible for motivating, managing, and inspiring a team of talented software engineers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure iOS applications. Your hands-on expertise will drive the technical vision of the team, collaborating closely with senior engineers and architects to deliver impactful features and products.

In this role, you will contribute to projects such as Credit Keeper, which allows customers to view and monitor their credit scores; enabling users to update their personal information directly within the mobile app; and Quick Check, which provides customers with pre-approval certainty for credit card applications. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a cloud-first environment, utilizing open source frameworks, RESTful APIs, microservices, and containerization technologies to accelerate product delivery and improve customer engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience developing native iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI.
  • Extensive experience in application design, technical architecture, and full-cycle development.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring junior and intermediate developers, along with the ability to guide technical and business stakeholders effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the delivery of major components and platform needs in collaboration with senior engineers and architectural teams.
  • Participate actively in the entire software development lifecycle, from planning to deployment, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards.
  • Enhance software engineering practices by working within agile teams to design, develop, test, and support technical solutions across diverse development tools and technologies.
  • Provide expertise on how emerging technologies influence the mobile domain, recommending innovative approaches and solutions.
  • Mentor and support junior, intermediate, and senior mobile developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
