Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager – Consultant to manage and deliver a portfolio of IT projects within the banking environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the full project lifecycle from initiation to closure, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives.
The role requires strong stakeholder management, vendor coordination, and cross-functional collaboration within the IT organization.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Manage a portfolio of IT projects in accordance with the organization’s IT Project Management methodology.
- Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and aligned with strategic goals.
- Prepare and maintain key project documentation including:
- Project initiation reports
- Project status reports
- Project closure reports
- Other required project documentation.
- Monitor project performance, milestones, and deliverables.
Stakeholder & Communication Management
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal departments and stakeholders.
- Communicate project updates, risks, and progress to senior management and project teams.
- Coordinate with business units, IT teams, and vendors to ensure project success.
Vendor & Team Coordination
- Manage vendor engagements and ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.
- Coordinate activities across multiple IT teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Lead and participate in project meetings, team discussions, and client sessions.
Risk & Compliance Management
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to minimize exposure.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, governance frameworks, and security standards.
- Provide required information to internal and external auditors when requested.
- Ensure proper handling of confidential and commercially sensitive information.
Technical Oversight
- Understand system architecture, technical constraints, and integration points.
- Support problem-solving decisions related to system limitations and technical solutions.
Professional Development
- Identify opportunities for continuous professional development.
- Stay updated with project management best practices and emerging technologies.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- MBA or Master’s Degree is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience managing IT projects.
- Proven experience in banking or financial services IT environments.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects in complex enterprise environments.
