Apilex is building an AI-native legal platform used in real legal operations — where clarity, trust, and product quality are non-negotiable. As we scale rapidly, we’re expanding our backend team to make our systems more scalable, stable, and high-performing, and to support AI-powered workflows at production quality.

What you’ll do

• Develop, maintain, and improve backend services powering core product workflows
• Design and implement backend architecture for new features (APIs, services, data flows)
• Optimize high-traffic, data-intensive systems for performance and reliability
• Build integrations with AI services and search infrastructures
• Collaborate closely with Product and Frontend teams to deliver end-to-end features
• Contribute to engineering best practices (security, observability, CI/CD, code quality)

What we’re looking for

• 3+ years of experience with Java and Spring Boot
• Strong experience building RESTful APIs
• Solid understanding of microservice architecture
• Strong SQL experience; NoSQL is a plus
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP)
• Strong knowledge of performance, scalability, and security best practices
• Experience with Git and CI/CD workflows
• Analytical thinking, strong ownership mindset, and good communication
• Ability to work onsite in Istanbul

Nice to have

• Experience with search stacks (Elasticsearch/OpenSearch)
• Experience with event-driven systems (Kafka/RabbitMQ)
• Experience with observability (logs/metrics/tracing) and SRE practices
• Experience integrating LLM/AI services in production
